Paris Trip Notes

Yummy museum cafe food.  Sides in Paris = they always serve a salad!
Loving all the art at Centre Pompidou, Paris.

Later in the day ...

We're sitting at a cafe (The Hideout), after visiting Centre Pompidou and the Musee National D'Art Moderne, each with a pint of Saint-Omer and it's happy hour ( 3.50 Euros a pop).

I'm having a lover's quarrel with my trip at the moment ... being foreign in a foreign country and surrounded by other foreign people (aka tourists) is not ideal.  We end up in some touristy areas, therefore treated like tourists, well, because we are tourists. Ugh. We wanted to find a more quaint area and really get the best taste of true Parisian culture, but not happening here today.  Well, I guess that tourism is part of the true Parisian culture now.  So, therefore, we succeeded!

At any rate ...

The past few days I'm constantly reminded of how much I do not know ...  of the world, of other cultures.  It definitely feels like it right now since I'm so pressed with new visuals, sounds, and French culture everywhere!

Having all of these new experiences makes me feel as if I have been sealed up in a box, tightly.

I'm glad I take opportunities to step outside by comfort zone.  It's exhilarating!  It does seem like a lot of people stay sealed comfortably in their own box for way too long.  If you seal yourself up and don't explore the world, it's no wonder we all do not understand each other better. No wonder the world is never peaceful.

I say try it today.  Step outside your box.  You might be pleasantly surprised!
