We make it to the
Nimes train station because our taxi guy drove like a maniac (it's okay, the norm here). Here's the little station. Lovely, eh?

FYI: That is all the luggage we had for the trip! Easy breezy! |
Okay, this particular train was awful. We were in the last car of it (even though we had first class tickets) ... catching the tail wind of things, bumpy, loud, vibrations, hot, and it even had smelly bathrooms. Me no likey. Other trains on the trip thus far have been fabulous ... except for this one.

Sorry for picture quality ... trying to capture the fields and fields of windmills. |
Then, the train breaks down in the middle of the trip in the middle of crazy cliffs of stone. We wait and wait on the train, but we are now one hour late to catch our next train taking us to Nice, France.
|
Yep, where we broke down. |
|
Behind the train while broke down. At least we didn't break down in the tunnel! |
We finally arrive in Marseille, stand in line, have to find next train, get tickets, all in french btw, which is hard in moments of frantic french train stations! But its seemingly easy (lots of people trying to do the same thing though) and we get new tickets, then back on a train to Nice!
|
Heading further south in France, now on the coast, which is so Nice. |
|
Loving the south coast of France. |
More to come on our adventure in
Nice!
