Paris Delhi Bombay ...

The "Paris-Delhi-Bombay... " show was about to open up at the Centre Pompidou, so we didn't get to see it!  Only a little preview.  Aren't these letters cool?

You can find out a little more about that show here.

Work of Francois Morellet 2

This is a continued post of the work of Francois Morellet.  We saw this show in Paris at the Centre Pompidou.

These are photographs of the work of Francois Morellet ... continued from the previous post.

Serious art face right there.

Centre Pompidou, Paris

Paris has so many wonderful things to do that one becomes flabbergasted at how hard it is choose how you'll spend your time ... especially when it comes to deciding which museums to visit.  There are tons!  So, we just pulled out a map and it was like eenie meenie minie mo!  It works.

We chose to hit up the Centre Pompidou.  It houses the Musee National d'Art Moderne, which has the second largest collection of modern and contemporary art in the world ... over 70,000 works.  That is crazy.  The MOMA in New York has the largest collection.  (Who wants to go to NYC soon?) Me.

Musee National d'Art Moderne, museum in Paris.

Guess we picked the right place because it did cause me to ooh and ahh quite often.  So. Much. Art.

Sculpture outside the building.

Stairs are attached along the outside of the buildings.  Pretty cool views.

Unique walkways!

One of the exhibits was by Francois Morellet, a conceptual and minimal artist.  Here's a few beginning shots.  Neon lights!

Acting Crazy in Paris

On Wednesday we did the open bus tour / transportation thing and took several relaxing breaks in some cafes. Then we went to the Louvre (WOW wow WOW), as you saw in all of our previous posts!

After a long and inspiring trip through the museum we hit up the French version of McDonald's.  We ate our gourmet meal in the moonlight ... and in the beautiful night lighting of the gardens surrounding the Louvre.  I like McDonald's in Paris, pretty different than in the U.S.

And, then, we got silly.  We were just having so much fun and very giddy.  I mean, who wouldn't be right?!  And, yep, we played paparazzi.

So, what do you do when you've had a long and exhausting, but wonderful day in Paris ... that's also budget friendly?  You go to a local petit marche to buy wine and snacks and go kick it in the hotel room.  Yep, that's what we did.  Put our feet up, drank red wine right out of the bottle (okay, maybe some plastic cups) and gorged ourself with French yummies, like almond biscuit crunchy things and French chips and chocolates.  It wouldn't have been complete without French music videos!  It was simple and wonderful.  That's how we roll.  Ha.

Red, red wine.

Delirious at this point.

Good hair, right?
